Law enforcement agencies have intensified security across Chattogram to ensure a peaceful environment ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election, scheduled for February 12.

On Saturday afternoon (January 17), the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) and the Bangladesh Army conducted a joint search operation in the city's Kazir Deuri area. During the drive, security personnel inspected vehicles and questioned individuals to preempt any potential sabotage or disorder.

Aftab Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station, stated that forces are on high alert to maintain law and order. "Our primary responsibility is the safety of city residents. We urge everyone to stay vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police," he said.

Security officials confirmed that intensified patrols and surveillance will continue across key locations in Chattogram throughout the electoral period. These proactive measures have been welcomed by local residents, who expressed hope for a fair and festive election environment.
