


The 29 Border Guard Battalion (BGB) has seized a significant quantity of drugs and smuggled items during two separate anti-smuggling operations in the Phulbari border area. The total market value of the seized goods is estimated at approximately Tk 2.41 lakh.
On Thursday (January 15), teams from the Khanpur and Rasulpur Border Outposts (BOP) conducted the raids. The haul including 760 bottles of prohibited stimulant syrup and 1,590 pieces of illegal Indian narcotic tablets.
Lieutenant Colonel AM Jaber Bin Jabbar, Commander of the 29 BGB, confirmed the successful operation. He emphasized that the battalion’s efforts to curb cross-border smuggling and the drug trade remain a top priority.
"Our patrols are on high alert to prevent the entry of illegal narcotics and smuggled goods. Regular operations will continue to identify and arrest those involved in these criminal activities," the commander stated.
