Daily workers protested in front of Chattogram WASA wearing shrouds. They took up position in front of the main gate of Chattogram WASA on Thursday (December 11) afternoon.

The protesters claimed that despite the case, WASA did not make daily workers permanent, but instead published a new recruitment notice in the newspaper. Despite working for a long time, they are planning to recruit new manpower instead of making them permanent. At this time, they demanded permanent appointments immediately.

They also said that WASA was appointed during its crisis. After giving us legitimacy, others will have to be appointed. Even though the case is ongoing, the authorities issued the notice in a hurry. We have gathered here to protest the publication of the recruitment notice in defiance of the High Court. We were victims of discrimination in the past years and are still victims of discrimination.

More than two hundred officers and employees are working in Chattogram WASA on a temporary basis in various positions.

Attempts to contact Chattogram WASA Deputy Managing Director (Administration) Sharmin Alam by phone to inquire about the movement were unsuccessful.
