Riding high on Football World Cup fever, a colorful rally was brought out by passionate Argentina fans in the Nandanpur area of Lakshmipur on Friday afternoon.

Organized under the initiative of local supporters, the procession started from Nandanpur in Hamchadi Union under Sadar Upazila. Hundreds of fans carrying a massive Argentine flag marched through the Dalal Bazar area before peacefully returning to Nandanpur.

Dressed in the iconic sky blue and white jerseys, the enthusiastic fans carried national flags, blew flutes and danced to the beat of traditional drums. The entire route turned festive as supporters chanted slogans expressing their deep admiration for the Argentine national team and football icon Lionel Messi. Intrigued local residents lined the streets to witness and enjoy the spectacle.

According to the organizers, the rally was held not only to wish the Argentine team success in the World Cup tournament but also to celebrate Bangladesh's deep-rooted passion for football.

Crucially, the organizers emphasized that the event served a broader social purpose: encouraging the local youth to stay away from drug abuse by channeling their energy into sports and healthy community activities.

Lakshmipur, much like the rest of football-mad Bangladesh, historically witnesses a massive surge in enthusiasm, flag-hoisting, and community screenings whenever the World Cup season arrives.
