Tarique Rahman, Chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party and current Prime Minister, has called on party leaders and activists to stand firmly beside the people while maintaining discipline and respecting law and order.
Addressing a large gathering from the balcony of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan on Saturday evening, Rahman emphasized that public expectations from the party are high. He urged leaders and activists to act responsibly and avoid any activities that could cause public suffering or disruption.
Highlighting ongoing national challenges, the Prime Minister encouraged party members to communicate these issues clearly to citizens and motivate them to remain patient during difficult times.
He also stressed the importance of not blocking roads during political programs, particularly during his visits to the party office. “People’s movement cannot be obstructed,” he said, directing supporters to quickly clear the streets to ease public movement.
Rahman noted that he intends to visit the Nayapaltan office more frequently to strengthen organizational activities and maintain direct engagement with party members. However, he made it clear that such visits would only be possible if party activists ensure order and cooperation.
Earlier in the evening, Rahman arrived at the Nayapaltan office around 7:20 pm, where he was welcomed by thousands of enthusiastic leaders and activists. This marks his first visit to the BNP central office since assuming office as Prime Minister.
During the visit, he also held discussions with senior party leaders, cabinet members, and lawmakers, signaling efforts to consolidate party coordination and governance activities.
