BNP-Jamaat clash in Chauddagram-10 injured, car vandalized

After the public meeting of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, BNP-Jamaat leaders and activists in Chauddagram, Comilla, clashed. At least 10 leaders and activists from both sides were injured and a private vehicle was vandalized.

The incident took place in the Hatbair area of ​​Jagannathdighi Union on Saturday afternoon while they were returning from a public meeting organized by Jamaat at Chauddagram High School ground.

The injured are; Chauddagram Upazila South Shibir President Rifat Sunny, Upazila BNP Vice President Solaiman Chowdhury, Solaiman Chowdhury's driver Mamun, Jagannathdighi Union Jamaat's Joint Secretary Rabiul Hossain Rocky, Jamaat leaders Zakaria Russell, Mithu, Jamal. The injured have been admitted to Chauddagram Upazila Health Complex. The army and police are currently deployed at the scene.

Upazila Jamaat Ameer Belal Hossain said that on their way back from the rally, BNP terrorists from Hatbair area of ​​Jagannathdighi Union attacked Jamaat leaders and activists. At least 7 leaders and activists, including Shibir's Upazila South President and Union Jamaat leader, were injured.

However, Upazila BNP Vice President Soleman Chowdhury said that on their way back after the public meeting, Jamaat leaders and activists attacked the house of Upazila Volunteer Party leader Mizan Khan. He himself, several women and many people from the village were injured in their attack. Private vehicles were vandalized.

Chauddagram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abu Mahmud Kausar Hossain said that after hearing the news of the BNP-Jamaat clash, Chauddagram Police Station and a team of Bangladesh Army went to the scene and brought the situation under control.
