Activists from Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), the student wing of the BNP, launched a sit-in protest in front of the Election Commission (EC) headquarters, Nirbachan Bhaban, this morning (18 January).

The demonstrators are protesting what they term as "biased decisions" regarding postal ballots and alleging political interference in recent EC rulings.

Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal members are gathered outside the Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon. The protest focuses on the administrative handling of postal ballots and claims of partisan decision-making by the commission. Security has been heightened in the area; no violence has been reported.
