As the race for the 13th General Election intensifies, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has officially entered the fray for the Dhaka-15 constituency.

On Thursday, a delegation led by Assistant Secretary General Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair collected the papers on behalf of the party chief from the returning officer.

The deadline for submitting nomination papers is December 29, with the national polls scheduled for February 12, 2026.

In the neighboring Dhaka-13 seat, prominent figures like Maulana Mamunul Haque (Khelafat Majlis) and Bobby Hajjaj (NDM) have also collected papers. For Dhaka-15, BNP’s Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton is among the key aspirants.

So far, 21 candidates have picked up nomination forms for the Dhaka-13 and Dhaka-15 seats.

Notably, a national referendum will be held simultaneously with the general election on February 12.
