Two more patients have died from dengue in the 24 hours leading up to Thursday morning, bringing the national death toll for the year to 24, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The latest fatalities were reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and the Khulna division. In addition to the deaths, 190 new patients were hospitalized across the country within the same period. Health officials noted that the Barishal division currently accounts for the highest number of these new hospital admissions.

As the outbreak continues, the government has mandated that all state-run hospitals provide free dengue tests until December 31 to ensure early diagnosis and treatment for the public.
