


Sixteen more children have died with measles symptoms across Bangladesh in the last 24 hours, while 1,434 new cases were recorded during the same period.
The latest data was released today, Sunday (May 24), by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the DGHS, the total death toll from measles and related complications has now reached 528. Out of these, 86 deaths are laboratory-confirmed measles cases, while 442 children died showing clear symptoms of the disease.
To date, 8,622 children have tested positive for measles, and another 63,813 have been hospitalized with symptoms.
Dhaka Division remains the worst-affected region, accounting for 224 deaths and 36,176 infections.
