


In the last 24 hours, five more children have died from measles and related symptoms across Bangladesh. During the same period, 1,358 additional children showed symptoms of the disease.
The information was released on Monday (April 27) in a regular report by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to DGHS, four of the deaths occurred in Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, and Sylhet divisions due to measles-like symptoms. Another child died from confirmed measles in Sylhet division.
During this period, 90 new measles cases were confirmed nationwide.
Since March 15, a total of 33,386 children have developed measles symptoms, while 4,693 cases have been officially confirmed.
The report also states that 22,442 children have been hospitalized with measles symptoms during this time. Of them, 19,018 have recovered and been discharged.
Health officials continue to monitor the situation as the number of infections remains high.
