


Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid high honors to the founder of independence, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia on Thursday morning to mark Independence and National Day.
The Prime Minister arrived at the mausoleum in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, placing a wreath to honor the late President’s contributions to the nation. Following the state ritual, he was joined by Cabinet members for a formal floral offering.
In his capacity as the Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Mr. Rahman also led senior party leaders and activists in a separate tribute. The ceremony concluded with a special prayer (munajat) seeking eternal peace for the souls of Ziaur Rahman, Begum Khaleda Zia, and the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War.
