


President Md. Shahabuddin and Prime Minister Tarique Rahman paid deep tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar today, March 26, marking the nation's Independence Day.
After laying floral wreaths at the altar, a bugle played a mournful tune as the President and Prime Minister stood in solemn silence. Following the state ceremony, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman placed a second wreath alongside members of the Cabinet.
Both leaders signed the visitor’s book and exchanged greetings with foreign diplomats in attendance.
The Chief Justice, accompanied by members of the judiciary, also paid their respects. They were followed by the heads of the three armed services, freedom fighters, and families of those killed or injured in the July Movement. Various political and social organizations, along with the diplomatic corps, continued to offer floral tributes throughout the morning.
