Fire Breaks Out at Gulistan’s Pir Yemeni Market; 6 Fire Units Responding

A fire erupted at the Pir Yemeni Market in Dhaka’s busy Gulistan area on Friday evening. The incident has prompted an emergency response from the Fire Service and Civil Defence to prevent the blaze from spreading to nearby commercial buildings.

The Fire Service received information regarding the fire at approximately 5:28 PM on Friday, December 26.

According to Fire Service duty officer Rozina Akter, six units were immediately dispatched to the scene and are currently working to bring the flames under control.

As of the latest update, the origin of the fire remains unknown. Firefighters are prioritizing containment to protect the densely packed market stalls. No casualties have been reported so far, and authorities are yet to assess the extent of the property damage.

Updates will follow as the situation develops and the fire is extinguished.
