At least nine Palestinians were killed on Thursday in a series of Israeli airstrikes, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The fatalities included six people killed in fresh strikes over the past 24 hours and three others who succumbed to wounds from previous attacks.
The most significant strike targeted a security guard post in the Ansar area, west of Gaza City. Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital confirmed that several others were injured in the blast, with some in critical condition. Gaza’s Interior Ministry stated that the targeted site was a police control point.
The latest violence highlights the fragility of the ceasefire agreement reached last year, which has faced multiple violations in recent months.
According to the Health Ministry’s latest figures, the total death toll since the escalation began in October 2023 has surpassed 72,600, with more than 172,000 people injured. The majority of the casualties are reported to be women and children.
