The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has issued an urgent warning to people in Iran, advising them to avoid trains and railway lines for the next 12 hours.
In a statement, the IDF urged Iranian citizens not to use trains or travel across the country until 9:00 pm local time, citing safety concerns.
“Your presence on trains and near railway lines puts your life at risk,” the statement said.
The warning was published on the IDF’s Persian-language account on X.
The advisory comes amid rising tensions in the region. US President Donald Trump has given Iran a deadline until 8:00 pm local time on Tuesday to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
He also warned that failure to comply could lead to attacks on Iran’s civilian infrastructure, including bridges and power plants.
Experts say that targeting civilian infrastructure may violate international law and could be considered a war crime.
