Banalata Express Becomes First Bangladeshi Film to Join $400,000 Club in North America

Tanim Noor’s Banalata Express has achieved a historic milestone, becoming the first Bangladeshi film to gross over $400,000 in North America. Currently screening in 21 theaters across the United States and Canada, the film surpassed the lifetime earnings of the previous record-holder, Hawa, in just two weeks.

According to Mohammad Aliullah Sajeeb, president of international distributor Swapna Scarecrow, the film grossed $401,000 within its first 17 days. Despite entering its third week, the film maintains strong momentum, earning an additional $40,000 in the last seven days alone.

Produced by Buriganga Talkies in association with Hoichoi Production, the star-studded ensemble includes Mosharraf Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Intekhab Dinar, Zakia Bari Mom, Ajmeri Haque Badhon, Sabila Noor, and Shariful Raj.
