After a significant hiatus, Dhallywood superstar Pori Moni is set to return to the silver screen to portray one of the most iconic figures in anti-British movement history Pritilata Waddedar.

The film, titled Pritilata, is a highly anticipated biopic directed by Rashid Palash, which had previously faced delays due to various personal and professional circumstances of the lead actress.

Director Rashid Palash recently confirmed that the production team is gearing up for the final stretch of the project. If current plans hold, the remaining shooting for the film will commence in April 2026.

Palash expressed optimism about the project, noting that the groundwork for the final schedule is already being laid to ensure a high-quality historical representation.

The actress herself is deeply enthusiastic about stepping back into the shoes of the revolutionary leader. Responding to the production update, Pori Moni stated, "I am also ready." She has previously described this role as a dream project and a significant challenge in her career, requiring intense preparation to capture the spirit and bravery of Pritilata Waddedar.

The film aims to chronicle the life of Pritilata, the first Bengali woman revolutionary to sacrifice her life during the raid on the Pahartali European Club in 1932.

Fans and critics alike are eager to see Pori Moni’s transformation for this period drama, which promises to bring a vital piece of history to the modern audience.
