Md. Motaher Hossain, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) of Chattogram, has been appointed the new administrator of the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), a centenary trade organization.

Chamber Joint Secretary Nurul Absar Chowdhury confirmed the appointment in a press release on Wednesday (January 21). Approved by the Ministry of Commerce, Hossain will serve as administrator from January 20 until the conclusion of the ongoing chamber election process.

The appointment follows the resignation of 24 members of the chamber’s board of directors on September 2, 2025, after which the government issued an order to appoint an administrator. Muhammad Anwar Pasha had been serving in that role.

Voting for the chamber election has been delayed due to legal cases and the national elections. Earlier, Mohammad Nurullah Nuri had been announced for the administrator role on September 8, 2025, but the appointment did not take effect.
