The United Business Forum panel achieved a clean sweep in the Chattogram Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) elections on Saturday, marking the first time in over 12 years that members of the trade body elected their leaders through a direct vote.

The landmark election took place at the World Trade Center in Agrabad, drawing local entrepreneurs and industrial leaders back to the ballot box after more than a decade of uncontested selections.

The election board set up separate brackets across four functional trade categories to ensure balanced representation from major corporate houses down to trade town syndicates.

Following non-stop ballot casting from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Election Management Board Chairman and Local Government Department Director, Monowara Begum, announced the official results after the evening tally. The full list of winning candidates are Md. Amjad Hossain Chowdhury, Mohammad Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Kamal Mostafa Chowdhury, Aman Ullah Al Chagir, Abu Haider Chowdhury, Mohammad Shafiul Alam, ASM Ismail Khan, Md. Golam Sarwar, Asad Iftekhar, Mohammad Shahidul Islam Chowdhury, Mohammad Habibur Rahman, and Shahidul Alam and also Associates are Mohammad Alauddin Al Azad, Mohammad Mashiul Alam Swapan, Sarwar Alam Khan, Md. Zahidul Hasan, Md. Nurul Islam, and Md. Selim Noor.

Trade Association Group (Unopposed): Mohammad Amirul Haque (Panel Leader), SM Saiful Alam, and Mohammad Akhter Parvez.

Town Association Group (Unopposed): Mohammad Sajjad Un Newaz, Mohammad Monir Uddin, and Afsar Hasan Chowdhury.

Outgoing business representatives welcomed the return of democratic ballots, noting that a directly elected chamber gives the commercial hub stronger leverage when negotiating industrial and port-focused policies with central authorities in Dhaka.
