A Palli Sanchay Bank branch manager died under mysterious circumstances while visiting Madhukhali upazila in Faridpur.

The deceased, 43-year-old Md. Rahmat Ali from Brahmanbaria’s Nasirnagar upazila, was the manager of a Palli Sanchay Bank branch in Narsingdi.

According to Madhukhali Police Sub-Inspector Kamruzzaman, Rahmat and several friends from Dhaka were visiting the home of Alhaj Lokman Hossain, owner of Altukhan Jute Mills. After spending Sunday touring the area and having dinner, the group went to rest. Shortly after, Rahmat suddenly fell ill.

His companions rushed him to the Madhukhali Upazila Health Complex. However, the on-duty physician declared him dead, stating he had passed away before reaching the medical facility.

Madhukhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Sukdev Roy confirmed that police recovered the body from the hospital. It was subsequently sent to the Faridpur Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

"The exact cause of death can only be confirmed once we receive the autopsy report," OC Roy stated. He added that the deceased's relatives have been notified and are en route to Faridpur. Police will determine the next legal steps based on the medical findings.
