12-Year-Old Girl Dies in Chittagong Landslide

A 12-year-old girl died tragically after being buried in a landslide in the Chashma Pahar area of Panchlaish, Chittagong on Wednesday.

The victim, Sumaiya, daughter of local resident Faruk Hossain, was trapped inside her home when the landslide struck. While her parents managed to escape the house from another room, Sumaiya was unable to get out in time and died on the spot.

Shah Imran, Deputy Assistant Director of Chittagong Fire Service and Civil Defense (Zone-4), stated that emergency responders were notified of the disaster at 12:48 PM. A rescue team immediately rushed to the scene and recovered the child's body at approximately 1:15 PM.
