


RAB-7 has arrested Ayub Ali, alias Babul Sawdagar, an accused in the murder of a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) member who was killed during a terrorist attack in Jangal Salimpur, Sitakunda.
The 53-year-old suspect is the son of the late Abdul Malek, a resident of Community Area No. 8 in the upazila.
Acting on a tip-off that the suspect was hiding in Chittagong city, a RAB-7 team conducted a raid in front of Nabi Market on Loyal Road, under Kotwali police station, on Sunday (June 21) afternoon.
RAB-7 Assistant Superintendent of Police and Assistant Director of Media, ARM Mozaffar Hossain, confirmed the arrest. He stated that the suspect has since been handed over to Sitakunda Police Station for further legal proceedings.
This development follows the recent apprehension of two other suspects involved in the same murder. Earlier, on June 18, RAB arrested Ali Akbar from the Chinnamul No. 1 area of Salimpur Union. Two days later, on June 20, another accused, Md. Imran, was also taken into custody
