RAB arrests Shahbagh rape case accused from Chattogram

RAB-7 issued a media notification on Saturday (June 13) confirming the arrest of 25-year-old Turya De, a resident of Rangunia Upazila.

A joint team from RAB-7 (Chattogram) and RAB-14 (Mymensingh) conducted a raid on Friday night near the Bali Orchid Shopping Mall in the city's Chawkbazar area based on secret information.

According to RAB, the victim filed a case on June 1 under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and the Penal Code. The complainant alleged that the accused raped her at a Dhaka hotel on May 26 under the pretext of marriage. When she later pressed for marriage, the accused refused and threatened her.

RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) A. R. M. Mozaffar Hossain stated that the arrested accused has been handed over to the Chawkbazar Police Station for further legal proceedings.
