Tobgi Secondary School has been named the best secondary educational institution in Bhola Sadar Upazila for National Education Week 2026. The century-old school earned the recognition for its excellent academic results, student discipline, co-curricular activities, and modern science and IT facilities.

On Wednesday (May 20) morning, Bhola Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Arifuzzaman presented the award to the school’s headmaster, Asim Acharya, during a meeting at the Upazila Parishad. Sadar Upazila Secondary Education Officer Md. Rakibul Hasan chaired the event, which was attended by various upazila officials and school administrators.

Established in 1925 by local education enthusiast Mostafizur Rahman, Tobgi Secondary School currently serves about 500 students in Bapta Union. It features a modern computer lab, a science library, and internet access, ensuring rural students develop competitive, up-to-date skills.

The school also has a strong record of global engagement. Associated with the International School Network since 2009, it collaborates on co-curricular programs with the British Council, UNICEF, and Plan International. The institution previously won the district's "Best Educational Institution" award, as well as the "International School Award" in 2012 and 2016.

UNO Md. Arifuzzaman, who also serves as the school's Managing Committee President, credited the achievement to teamwork. "This is the result of the combined efforts of our teachers, students, and the board. We consistently strive to provide modern education to our rural students," he said.

Former headmaster Mr. Shahnewaz Chandan noted that the school’s steady progress has brought pride to the area.

Current Headmaster Asim Acharya added, "Education is the backbone of the nation. Our goal is not only to provide formal education but to develop students into skilled, moral, and patriotic citizens. This recognition will inspire us to do even better."
