


Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam Rita confirmed Wednesday morning that the government will fulfill its promise to upgrade Syedpur Airport to an international facility.
Speaking to journalists at the airport, the minister emphasized that all pre-election commitments made by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will be implemented in phases.
"Airports with high passenger demand and national importance will be upgraded to international standards to better serve the public," she stated.
The minister noted that the Syedpur Airport expansion is actively under the Prime Minister's consideration. She urged the public to remain patient as the administration executes its infrastructure plans step by step.
Local political figures, including Saidpur BNP General Secretary Sahin Akhtar Sahin, Joint General Secretary Ershad Hossain Pappu, Jubo Dal Convener Tarek Azizi, and other Nilphamari district leaders, were present at the briefing.
Following the address, the minister departed for Thakurgaon by road.
