Typhoid Vaccination Campaign to Begin in Lakshmipur from October 12

Under the government’s Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), a typhoid vaccination campaign is set to begin in Lakshmipur.

The announcement was made at a press conference held on Thursday (October 9) morning in the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Rajib Kumar Sarker.

Speakers at the event included Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Abu Hasan Shaheen, Additional Deputy Commissioner Samrat Khisa, District Information Officer Bishwanath Majumder, and Medical Officer Dr. Nahid Raihan from the Civil Surgeon’s Office. Journalists from various print and electronic media were also present.

According to the press briefing, students under the age of 15 in all educational institutions in the district will receive typhoid vaccines at their respective schools. Additionally, children aged 9 months to under 15 years outside schools will be vaccinated at existing permanent and temporary EPI centers. This year, a total of 629,978 children and adolescents in the district are expected to receive the typhoid vaccine.
