


Detective Branch (DB) police have arrested two individuals and seized 398 bottles of the Indian drug ‘Iscaf’ along with five bottles of foreign liquor in separate operations in Narail. A private car used to transport the drugs was also confiscated.
The were carried out on Friday (April 24) in two locations: the Sheikh Russell Bridge area in the afternoon and Pankabila in Narail Sadar Upazila at night.
The arrested individuals are Mahabur Rahman (26), son of Yasin Ali from Sarupada village in Chaugachha upazila of Jashore, and Manik Biswas (32), son of Samar Biswas from Malopara village in Pankabila, Narail Sadar.
According to police, acting on a tip-off, DB officers intercepted a private car near Sheikh Russell Bridge and recovered 398 bottles of Iscaf from its rear section. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is around Tk 8 lakh. Mahabur Rahman was arrested at the scene, and the vehicle was seized.
In a separate raid later that night, DB police arrested Manik Biswas in front of Pankabila Kali Temple with five bottles of foreign liquor.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Md Kamruzzaman confirmed the seizures and said cases have been filed against both suspects under the Narcotics Control Act. They were sent to jail through the court on Saturday morning.
