


Advocate Mortaza Zaman Alamgir Rulu has been nominated by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami for the mayoral post in Paikgachha Municipality, Khulna district. The party officially announced him as its candidate ahead of the upcoming elections.
According to party sources, organizational activities have been intensified in preparation for the elections. Leaders and activists are already participating in discussions, prayer gatherings, and public communication programs.
After receiving the nomination, Rulu said, “Allah Almighty commands justice, good conduct, and helping relatives (Surah An-Nahl: 90). I want to serve the people following this ideal.”
He added, “The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, ‘The best among you is the one who is most beneficial to people.’ I will stand by the people as a servant and ensure their rights are protected.”
Rulu urged citizens for their prayers and support, saying, “With your cooperation, I aim to make Paikgachha Municipality a well-governed, modern, and welfare-oriented city.”
Party leaders and activists praised his honesty, integrity, and commitment to public service, noting that he is a widely accepted candidate. They hope he will help promote politics rooted in justice, fairness, and welfare.
Local analysts observe that the election has already generated a competitive political environment. They suggest that Rulu’s emphasis on religious values and public service could attract voter interest.
