The Madhyapara Granite Mining Company Limited (MGMCL) contractor, Germania-Trest Consortium (GTC), distributed Eid clothes, food, and cash assistance to the families of distressed former mine workers in Dinajpur on Sunday.

The distribution took place at 11:30 AM at the GTC Charity Home, located near the mine entrance. GTC Executive Director Md. Jabed Siddiqui and Deputy General Manager Md. Zahid Hossain handed over the items to the beneficiaries.

GTC, responsible for the mine’s management and production, regularly engages in social welfare programs within the mining community. As part of their annual tradition during Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr, the firm provides financial aid and essential goods to vulnerable families.

Recipients noted that GTC also supports their children’s education through stipends and provides medical assistance. Currently, the GTC Charity Home provides scholarships to 52 students pursuing higher education and offers free health consultations to local residents five days a week.
