Housewife’s hanging body recovered in Bhola

Police recovered the hanging body of a 35-year-old housewife, Ruma Begum, from her husband's residence in Daulatkhan upazila of Bhola on Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred in Ward No. 4 of Saidpur Union. Ruma was the daughter of Kashem Master from Dakshin Joynagar Union and the wife of Lokman Hossain.

According to local sources, family members found Ruma’s body hanging and rushed her to the local health complex, where the attending physician pronounced her dead.

The deceased’s relatives alleged that Lokman frequently physically abused Ruma and failed to provide for the family. They claimed Lokman murdered her and demanded a formal investigation and justice.

Saiful Islam Sikder, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Daulatkhan Police Station, stated that police were dispatched to the hospital upon receiving the news. "The body is currently at the health complex. We will take legal action following an investigation if the family files a formal complaint," the OC added.
