Bhola Public Works Staff Strike for 9th National Pay Scale Gazette Staff

Officials and employees of the Public Works Department (PWD) in Bhola began a three-day strike on Monday, demanding the immediate issuance of the 9th National Pay Scale gazette. The protest, which is scheduled to run from February 1 to February 3, follows recommendations by the National Pay Commission for a non-discriminatory pay structure.

The demonstration took place at the PWD office in the Jugirghol area on Monday morning. Protesters emphasized their "one-point demand," urging the government to implement the new pay scale to reflect current economic realities.

The program was presided over by Senior Account Assistant Md. Moniruzzaman. Key participants included Deputy Assistant Engineers Md. Imam Hossain, Mohammad Zakaria Akhan, Mohammad Saiful Islam, and Parvez Khalifa. Other staff members, including Mahfuzur Rahman, Md. Fayez Uddin, Prashant Chandra Dey, and Anwar Hossain, also joined the strike, halting regular administrative activities.
