The Daganbhuiyan upazila administration conducted a late-night drive to prevent the illegal cutting of topsoil from agricultural land across several unions.

The operation, which began at 11:00 pm on Monday and continued until 1:50 am Tuesday, targeted areas in Ramnagar, Matubhuiyan, and Sindurpur unions. During the drive, officials seized three tractors used for transporting soil. An excavator found at a site was also rendered inoperable after authorities were unable to move it.

Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Md. Shahidul Alam, who led the operation, has directed local Union Land Assistant Officers (ULAOs) to prepare a list of individuals involved in these illegal activities for further legal action.

Members of the Bangladesh Police and Ansar provided security for the two "smart teams" during the campaign. "Our efforts to protect cropland from illegal topsoil extraction will continue," said Magistrate Shahidul Alam.
