


An identified drug dealer has been arrested in an army operation in Lohagara upazila of Narail. During this, a large amount of banned drug Yaba, cash and smartphone were recovered from him.
The operation was conducted at 10:30 pm on Tuesday (January 13) under the leadership of Camp Commander of Narail Army Camp Major Mazharul Islam based on a secret tip-off.
Army members conducted a search operation in the vicinity of Teacher Kalna Government Primary School area in Lohagara upazila.
During the operation, a drug dealer named Aslam Sheikh (38) was arrested from that area. Arrested Aslam Sheikh is the son of Md. Azgar Sheikh of Shankarpasha village in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj district.
Army members recovered 250 pieces of banned drug Yaba tablets, two smartphones and cash of Tk 38,920 from the arrested person. The arrested person and the seized goods were later handed over to Lohagara Police Station for legal action.
On Wednesday (January 14), Lohagara Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Ajit Roy confirmed the matter and said that the arrested drug dealer has been sent to jail through the court.
