Massive Fire Erupts at Medical Equipment Factory in Chattogram EPZ

A devastating fire broke out at a medical equipment manufacturing facility inside the Chattogram Export Processing Zone (CEPZ) on Thursday afternoon (October 16).

According to EPZ Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mohammad Zamir Hossain Zia, the fire started around 2 PM on the 7th floor of the eight-storey building belonging to Adams Cap & Textile Ltd, located on Road 5 of Sector 1 in CEPZ. The flames later spread to the 6th floor.

The Fire Service’s Agrabad control room confirmed that 15 firefighting units have been deployed to bring the fire under control.

Abdul Mannan, Deputy Assistant Director of Chattogram Fire Service,“We are still working to control the blaze. It’s not yet confirmed if any workers or staff are trapped inside.”
