Today (Monday), Nikli upazila in the Kishoreganj district recorded the Country's lowest temperature for the second day in a row.
The Meteorological Department reports that this morning's temperature in the haor-dominated upazila fell to 10 degrees Celsius.
Nikli recorded a temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius earlier on Sunday morning.
Nikli had the lowest temperature in the country on Monday, according to data released on the Meteorological Department's website at 11:30 a.m.
The area is currently experiencing a mild cold wave, according to meteorologists, even though the severity of the winter has somewhat decreased since Sunday. They noted that there is little likelihood of a major change and that the chilly weather might last the entire month.
Low-income residents of the area have suffered greatly as a result of the current cold snap. Farmers are also having challenges, especially since the district's haor regions are still in the Boro rice planting season.
