Two separate road accidents in Bheramara, Kushtia, have resulted in the deaths of two young motorcyclists and left four others injured within the span of 12 hours. The incidents involved a mini-truck and a long-route passenger bus.

On Friday night, a fatal collision occurred between a motorcycle and a mini-truck in the 16dag passenger camp area of Bahirchar Union. The deceased are Siam Hossain (17), son of Habibur Rahman, and Abdur Rashid (18), son of Abdul Quddus. Both were residents of the Bijnagar area in Mirpur. The youths were riding an unregistered black Suzuki Gixxer 150cc motorcycle. The police have seized the involved mini-truck (Dhaka Metro No. 11-7707).

One victim died on the spot, while the other succumbed to injuries at the Bheramara Upazila Health Complex. The bodies have been sent to the Kushtia 250-bed hospital morgue for autopsy. In a second incident on Saturday morning, a head-on collision occurred in front of the Bheramara Municipality.

A Dhaka-bound SB Super Deluxe AC bus collided with a local passenger van. Four people, including three women and one man, sustained serious injuries. Local residents rescued the victims and rushed them to the Bheramara Upazila Health Complex for emergency treatment.

Bheramara Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jahedur Rahman confirmed that both the mini-truck and the motorcycle from the Friday night accident are in police custody. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both collisions to determine legal next steps.
