Before returning to the country, Tarique Rahman, the acting chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), attended a meeting with Barrister Tarique Akbar Khondakar, chairman of Youth Voice of Bangladesh, in London.
In the meeting, Tarique Rahman laid special emphasis on involving the youth in the nation-building process. He suggested making the activities of Youth Voice of Bangladesh more organized, research-based and public-involved. He also directed to take planned programs to develop democratic values, leadership qualities and social and political awareness among the youth. The meeting also discussed the contemporary context of the country, the role of the youth and the role of young leadership in building the future of Bangladesh.
The Youth Voice of Bangladesh notification mentioned that Youth Voice of Bangladesh was formed in 2013 in the light of Tarique Rahman's personal advice, instructions and thoughts. Since its inception, the organization has completed more than 300 youth leadership and awareness programs nationwide, in which thousands of local and international students have participated.
During the activities of Youth Voice of Bangladesh, Barrister Tarek Akbar Khondaker and the organization faced various political obstacles from the then government. However, through Barrister Tarek Akbar Khondaker's strong leadership and strategic vision, Youth Voice of Bangladesh has been able to overcome these obstacles and continue its activities aimed at involving the youth community and developing youth leadership.
However, due to the disclosure of Mr. Tarek Rahman's personal relationship with Barrister Tarek Akbar Khondaker, the registration of Youth Voice of Bangladesh was suspended for 13 years. In 2018, due to pressure from various intelligence agencies, the organization's activities were also suspended. After that, the path to registration of Youth Voice of Bangladesh became clear after the mass uprising in 2024. In addition, the domestic and international branches of Youth Voice of Bangladesh are also approved and recognized by the Bangladesh government.
Those concerned believe that through this registration and approval, the organization will be able to start its activities anew and pave the way for more effective involvement of the country's youth.
