A cold wave has started in Phulbari, Dinajpur. Due to dense fog, the sun was not seen all day. Due to the cold, the temperature in Dinajpur district and Phulbari upazila dropped to 13.6 degrees Celsius on Saturday (December 20), which is the second lowest temperature in the country.

According to the Dinajpur Meteorological Office, the lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 13.0 degrees Celsius in Srimangal and 13.6 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur.

It is known that the temperature started to drop from Friday afternoon. The intensity of the cold increased with the cold wind towards night. As the area was covered in dense fog on Saturday morning, even after noon, the sunlight could not be seen. As a result, the feeling of cold increased further.

The people who work hard on low incomes are the most affected by the severe cold. Children and the elderly are especially suffering. Due to the cold, the movement of people on the roads has decreased. This has also reduced the income of small shopkeepers, including rickshaw drivers in the city.

Dinajpur Weather Observatory Officer Tofazzal Hossain said that the lowest temperature in the district was recorded at 9 am on Saturday at 13.6 degrees Celsius. Normal life is being disrupted due to the drop in daytime temperatures. As daily wage earners are unable to go to work, they are worried about their families.
