The broken wooden bridge in Dhopachhari Union, a remote hilly area of Chandanaish Upazila of Chittagong, has been officially inaugurated after renovation.

Upazila Executive Officer and Upazila Administrator Md. Rajib Hossain officially inaugurated the bridge by cutting the ribbon in Dhopachhari on Thursday (December 11) at 10 am.

It is worth noting that the middle part of this bridge built on the Dhopachhari stream was detached during the last monsoon due to a landslide, cutting off communication with various important institutions including Dhopachhari Bazar, the center of Dhopachhari Union, and the only high school. The matter came to the attention of the administration when it was published in the media. Later, UNO Rajib Hossain visited and assured the local residents that the bridge would be repaired. Later, under his instructions, the bridge renovation work was started with government grants through the acting chairman Latifa Khatun and the bridge renovation work was completed under the supervision of the market committee president Anisur Rahman.

Present at the inauguration ceremony were Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mahabul Alam Shaon Bhuiyan, acting chairman Latifa Khatun, Mujibul Haque Khoka member, Mozammel Haque member, Mohammad Nasir Uddin, market committee president Anisur Rahman, Mohammad Amin, Mizanur Rahman and Master Habibullah, along with local dignitaries.

The locals were seen excited as the bridge was inaugurated and they expressed their gratitude to the Upazila Executive Officer and the project officer.
