The Upazila Fertilizer and Seed Monitoring Committee meeting was held at the Sadullapur Upazila Agricultural Extension Department in Gaibandha.
The meeting held at the Upazila Parishad Hallroom on Tuesday afternoon was presided over by Upazila Executive Officer Kazi Mohammad Anik Islam.
During this, detailed discussions were held on ensuring the availability of quality fertilizers and seeds among farmers and monitoring the market situation. The meeting was addressed by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) Jasim Uddin, Sadullapur Reporters Club President Shahidul Haque, Press Club President Tajul Islam Reza, BFA Representative Shahidul Islam Babla, Bongram UP Chairman Fazlul Qayyum Huda, Idilpur UP Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Abdur Rahman, Naldanga UP Chairman Abdul Gafur, etc.
At the meeting, Upazila Agriculture Officer Krishibid Apurva Bhattacharya said that 3 dealers have been appointed in each union of the upazila. They will perform their duties as per the government instructions.
The appointed dealers will deliver fertilizers and seeds to the farmers of the concerned areas on time at a fair price. And if any kind of irregularity or delay is observed in this, strict action will be taken against that dealer immediately. Regarding the appointment or change of new dealers, the agriculture officer said that at the moment there is no government instruction to appoint new dealers or change the list.
