


Police have recovered the body of an old man named Ashraf Mia (64) buried in the ground in the yard of his house three days after he went missing in Bashkhali, Chattogram.
Bashkhali Police recovered the body from the East Temapara area of Kalipur Union in Bashkhali Upazila on Sunday (November 23) afternoon. The deceased Ashraf Mia is the son of the deceased Farid of East Temapara area of Ward No. 9 of Kalipur Union.
Locals said, 'Ashraf Mia went missing from his house three days ago. This morning, when he came to water the orange tree in the south of his yard, the family became suspicious when they saw that the tree had taken new soil. The family found the body buried in the ground in the yard. Later, after receiving the information, the police dug up the soil in the yard and recovered the body of the missing Ashraf Miah.
Bashkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saiful Islam said, "The body had injury marks on its head. The body has been recovered and sent to the Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy. He said that the police have already started working to 'unravel the mystery' of this murder."
