Tangail Zila Parishad distributed special financial grant cheques to various Durga Puja mandap committees across the district on Sunday morning to support the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja festival.
Zila Parishad Administrator Advocate SM Obaidul Haque Nasir formally handed over the cheques to the leaders of the respective Puja mandap committees at the Zila Parishad hall.
Speaking as the chief guest, Obaidul Haque Nasir noted that the Zila Parishad provided its largest financial grant to date this year to foster communal harmony. He emphasized that Durga Puja is part of the country’s collective heritage and shared joy.
He further affirmed that all citizens are equal under Bangladeshi identity and stating that volunteers would assist in ensuring peaceful and secure celebrations at every temple.
Zila Parishad Chief Executive Officer Samsunnahar Swapna presided over the event. Representatives from various Hindu community organizations and local Puja committees expressed gratitude to the district administration also noting that the assistance will significantly support local festival arrangements.
