


Authorities in Bhanga, Faridpur, successfully thwarted a plot to create disorder during the impending Dhaka lockdown by seizing a large cache of petrol bombs, Molotov cocktails, gunpowder, and hand bomb-making materials.
The seizure occurred during a raid at a residence in the Brahmanpara area of Azimnagar Union on Wednesday (November 12) around 3:00 PM.
Three individuals were immediately apprehended in connection with the incident. The arrested individuals have been identified as: Raj Islam (22), from Salimabad village, Nagarpur upazila, Tangail. Rakib Hossain (25), from Pathan Bazar area, Matlab upazila, Chandpur. Jewel Rana (22), from Dharmapasha upazila sadar, Sunamganj.
Bhanga Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Ashraf Hossain confirmed the operation, stating that the raid was conducted based on a tip-off. The confiscated materials were reportedly being assembled in anticipation of the Dhaka lockdown scheduled for the following day (November 13).
The police confirmed that they are actively investigating the matter and are pursuing further legal action against the suspects.
