Three killed in road accident in Faridpur's Bhanga

On Saturday night, at around 1:30 am, an unidentified vehicle hit a motorcycle (registration number: Jhenaidah L-11-9257) on the highway in front of the cemetery adjacent to Madhabpur Bridge in Hamirdi Union of Bhanga Police Station in Faridpur district and fled the scene.

In the incident, two brothers, Sumon (25) and Emon (22), sons of Karim Mondal of Sadki Mohammadpur in Kumarkhali Upazila of Kushtia district, died on the spot. Another seriously injured person, Ashiq Molla (22), was admitted to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex in an injured condition and also died during treatment.

Bhanga Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Helal Uddin said that Sergeant Russell was immediately sent to the scene after receiving the news of the accident. The motorcycle (Jhenaidah L-11-9257) involved in the accident was hit by an unidentified car and fled. The two riders of the motorcycle died on the spot. The seriously injured other rider was rescued and taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to the families on Sunday morning. Police are working to identify the driver of the unidentified car that hit the motorcycle and fled.
