Narendra Modi Wants Strong Relations with Bangladesh: Indian High Commissioner Dinesh Trivedi

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi desires strong and friendly relations with neighboring Bangladesh, Indian High Commissioner to Dhaka Dinesh Trivedi stated on Monday (August 10).

The High Commissioner made these remarks following a meeting with Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, High Commissioner Trivedi highlighted the ongoing democratic engagement between the two nations. "There are various democratic issues between the two countries, and there will be in the future as well. This is the beauty of diplomacy and democracy. These matters can be resolved through discussion," he said.

Emphasizing the shared ties between the neighbors, Trivedi noted that history and geography remain constant. "Our history and border realities cannot be changed. We share our dreams with each other, and I hope the coming days will be even better," he remarked.

The Indian diplomat stressed the need for mutual initiatives to address unresolved topics, stating, "Both sides must take proactive steps to solve their respective issues. There is no problem that cannot be resolved by sitting down and having dialogue. The general public of both nations wants relations between Bangladesh and India to remain strong."

Expressing gratitude for his time in the country, Trivedi added, "The warmth, affection, and love I have received in Bangladesh over the past two months have truly overwhelmed me."
