Enthusiasm marked the first day of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) nomination form distribution for the 13th National Parliament’s reserved women’s seats. A total of 544 aspirants collected forms from the party's central office in Nayapaltan on Friday.
The sale was officially inaugurated at 11:00 AM by Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General and Political Adviser to the Prime Minister.
According to party sources, the distribution and submission process will continue until Sunday, April 12. Each nomination form is priced at 2,000 BDT, with a required deposit of 50,000 BDT upon submission.
The Nayapaltan area saw a significant turnout of women leaders and activists from across the country since early morning. Addressing the hopefuls, Rizvi stated that the party's parliamentary board would prioritize candidates based on their dedication to the "street movements" of the last 15 years, their political qualifications, and their potential for effective parliamentary debate.
He urged all party activists to respect the final decision of the board as they select representatives for the 36 seats allocated to the BNP-led alliance.
