BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has issued a strong warning to the party's grassroots leaders, stating they must support the chosen election candidates or face strict organizational action.
Speaking via video conference from London during a meeting with nomination seekers from Chattogram and Rangpur divisions, Tarique emphasized the need for discipline and adherence to party decisions. This includes working for candidates in constituencies reserved for alliance partners.
Multiple aspirants confirmed that both Tarique and Standing Committee members like Salahuddin Ahmed warned against defying the party's choice. While Tarique expressed reluctance for expulsion, he made it clear that organizational action would be taken if leaders oppose the final selection.
Tarique also provided specific instructions for the nominated candidates: they must refrain from celebrating publicly and instead visit the homes of those who missed the ticket to seek their cooperation for the "Dhaner Sheesh" symbol's victory.
The message stressed unity and dedication to the party, with promises that all dedicated workers would be established within the party if they come to power. Similar warnings and instructions were given to nomination seekers from other divisions, who collectively pledged support for the party's nominated candidates.
