A prayer mahfil (religious gathering) seeking eternal peace for the soul of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Haque Degree College grounds in Binoykathi.

The event, organized by local BNP leaders, brought together a large number of party activists and central figures to honor the legacy of the three-time Prime Minister.

The gathering was presided over by Sardar Enamul Haque Elin, a member of the District BNP and former Union BNP Chairman. Dr. Ziauddin Haider, Advisor to the BNP Chairperson, attended as the chief guest. In his address, Dr. Haider described Khaleda Zia as an "uncompromising national leader" who remained steadfast against injustice throughout her political career. He noted that her leadership earned her deep respect across the political spectrum and urged the nation to pray for her soul.

Other prominent speakers were Israt Jahan Elen Bhutto: BNP parliamentary candidate for the Jhalokati-2 constituency and Mustafa Kamal Montu: Freedom fighter and former District BNP President.

The mahfil saw significant representation from various wings of the party and local civil society, Public Prosecutor and Press Club President Adv. Md. Akkas Sikder, Sadar Upazila BNP General Secretary Md. Khokon Mallick and District Jubo Dal Convener Shamim Talukder. Also leaders from the Swechchhasebak Dal, Krishak Dal, and various upazila-level units.
