The ceremony of handing over these three newborns organized at Bangladesh Neonatal Hospital on Wednesday morning on the occasion of World Prematurity Day-2025 was presided over by Mujib Newborn Foundation Founding President Professor Dr. Mujibur Rahman. BNP Vice Chairman and former Minister Barkat Ullah Bulu graced the ceremony as the chief guest.
At that time, Chairman and Managing Director of the Neonatal Hospital Mahmuda Sultana Asma, President of Bangladesh Private Hospital Clinic Diagnostic Owners Association, Narayanganj District Branch Dr. Md. Mujibur Rahman and Assistant Director of Bangladesh Neonatal Hospital, Joint Convener of Meghna Upazila Jubo Dal Shafiqul Islam and other dignitaries were present. Dr. Mujibur Rahman said that Mughdah was rescued 11 months ago. At the time of birth, she weighed only 700 grams.
And Farista, who was rescued 5 months ago, weighed 900 grams. Zohran was rescued a month ago. All three of these were seriously ill at the time of birth. Later, Chairman of Bangladesh Neonatal Hospital Mahmuda Sultana Asma took charge of the treatment of the three newborns. Under the supervision of Dr. Mujib Newborn Foundation, the three newborns are completely healthy and lively today. Today, they are going to get a safe future with their new family.
BNP Vice Chairman Barkat Ullah Bulu highly praised Dr. Mujibur Rahman for conducting such a humanitarian program. He said that the handover ceremony for these three newborns organized on the occasion of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman's birthday is undoubtedly the best gift. At the ceremony, the adopted couples said that they will raise them with love, affection and care like their own children and educate them with good education.
Incidentally, Dr. Mujib Newborn Foundation, which was established through the tireless efforts of Dr. Mujibur Rahman, has crossed the milestone of handing over 50 newborns today by adopting Mughd, Zohran and Farista.
